I look out over the city from my perch on the roof, watching as the sun quickly made its descent over the horizon. The air began to feel chillier as the leaves swayed with the breeze. I sip my hot chocolate, loving the feeling of it warming my insides as it travels through my body.

I look down to my drawing seeing the black ink stand out against the white paper, showing the designs of the tree that grew just across from my vantage point. I trace the lines with my finger, feeling proud of the drawing as I took notice of it’s detail.

I was startled by a sounds, raising my head to look at Seyoon who was balancing carefully over to me.

“Hey.” He greets with a goofy smile, concentrating on not slipping against the roof tiles. “I heard you might be up here.”

I smile at him, following him with my eyes as he made his way over to me, sitting down next to me as he looks out.

“Chan must have told you.” I assume as I follow his view, looking towards the setting sun.

Seyoon nods lightly before making his next statement. “It’s so peaceful up here.”

I nod, listening to the wind rustle through the trees as the temperature continues to drop into nighttime digits. “It is.”

I watch Seyoon turn towards me from the corner of my eye, catching my attention when he speaks. “Did you draw this?”

I look down to my drawing, seeing his eyes glued to the black strokes that lay across the canvas.

I smile fondly as I hand it to him. “Yeah.”

Seyoon takes it gently, studying the lines closely. “It’s really good.” He breathes, looking up again. “Is this the tree across the street?”

“It is!” I say excitedly, elated that he could see its characteristics.

“Wow, you’re really good.” He compliments again, handing the drawing back gently. “Do you draw up here a lot?”

“Yeah, it’s easy to get inspiration.” I look into his eyes, smiling widely. “You’re welcome up here anytime. It’d be fun to have a drawing buddy.”

Seyoon laughs along with me, looking back out as the sun dips below the horizon. “I’d like that.”
